What WHM manages

WHM manages multiple cPanel accounts. Resellers usually manage accounts within limits assigned by the provider. Server owners have deeper access to packages, DNS clusters, security, licenses, services, updates, and system settings.

Common WHM tasks

  • Create, suspend, unsuspend, terminate, and modify cPanel accounts.
  • Create hosting packages with disk, bandwidth, domains, and feature limits.
  • Reset cPanel passwords.
  • Manage DNS zones and account migrations.
  • Review account bandwidth and disk usage.
  • Configure nameservers and server contact details.

Server owner tasks

Root WHM users also manage EasyApache, Exim, CSF, CloudLinux, backups, service monitoring, updates, and security policies.

Operational notes

Customers use cPanel for one hosting account. Resellers and server owners use WHM for account-level administration. Root WHM changes can affect every customer, so test high-impact changes carefully.
